November 19th - Breakfast

Pictured: Babs digs into some Paleo Cereal.

They say it's the most important meal of the day.  And who's gonna argue with that!?  You're coming off of an 8-10 hour fast and your body needs some Go-Food.

Starting your day with a good meal helps get you off on the right foot.  Some will begin their morning with some sugary coffee, a donut or two, or a breakfast bar.  No wonder people are always raiding the office fridge at 10; they've allowed themselves to turn into an "Always Hungry Carb Craving Zombie!"

People may feel good for the first few hours, but that insulin is bound to drop sometime.  And when it does, they'll be headin' back to the sugar-dealer for another hit.

Here are a few good tips for starting your day off right:
- have some eggs
- veggies, veggies, veggies!
- make sure there's a dead animal on your plate
- almonds, pecans, or walnuts help fill you up
- tea or coffee (hold the sugar & creamer)
- take your fish oil
Stick with the meats, veggies, and nuts and you'll be good 'til lunch!

  1. Breakfast is by far my favorite meal. Unfortunately, I'm a very slow cook and spend about 45 minutes preparing for a 10 minute meal... It's a miracle if the yolks don't break.

    My breakfast this morning:
    -cuts of lamb leg
    -3 eggs
-vegetables (butternut squash, celery, 1 zucchini)
    -almonds
    -fish oil
    -irish breakfast tea

  2. My breakfast today was my typical smoothie with the following ingredients:

    grapes
    oranges
    apple
    strawberries
    blueberries
    spinach
    pecans
    protein powder

I make enough for Charlie and I most days. It is pretty filling. I use a lot of spinach and the smoothie looks disgusting but tastes really good.

  5. i accidentally posted as my boss. sorry. anyway...
the 'cereal' is crispy almonds and raisins in almond milk. i have recipes for crispy nuts, grain free granola, & almond milk at the following link. i would try it with coconut milk. the almond milk was ok. enjoy!
